This extension is currently not actively maintained! Although it may still work, any bug reports or feature requests will more than likely be ignored. GitHub: project page git repository URL [ help ] commit history Note: No localisation updates are provided by translatewiki. Hooks used. Hooks provided. Search your wiki for:. Create a template page for EACH of the links below.
The name of each template is on the left hand side, and the code for the template is linked to by the 'view source' link. Make sure you get all of the templates, or else Template:Infobox will not work.
After you create a template, re-edit it and below the code, each of the required templates dependencies will be listed. Same lua error and my infobox person template does not exist, as it shows up in red when I try to create a box on a Wiki page I am trying to create. Are you saying installing the entire Wiki again from scratch will resolve this, or is there a common issue some of us are running into that can be fixed easier?
Just ran through the process with an entirely new install and it worked fine, although I did run a Lua problem when adding the template code to my page.
I got an error of this form:. I simply removed them, re-saved the template page, and it started working fine. At this point, I am to the point where the XML upload seemed to work finally.
When I try the infobox example code you provided in the walkthrough, I get this:. That finally seemed to allow the XML file to upload without any issues. Just wanted to pass that along. This shit is so goddamn retarded. No one has any helpful info. Just a simple breakdown showing how to get a stupid box to show up on the side panel. Problems arise after every walk through. One plausible fix to said issue causes another two hours of secondary problems. Complete waste of time.
Sorry for the rant. Just ready to scream and punch holes in every wall in my house. I hope Wiki gets on board with WordPress and others soon and enters the new era. Nothing this simple should be so complicated in Apologies, Trog. I just wiped out my entire database out of disgust. I am at a complete loss to why they decided to use Lua as a scripting engine; it seems to be the source of most of these problems.
Without knowing anything about Dreamhost I suspect something about the way it handles the Lua executables might be munging things up. No idea why but again I suspect something to do with the way the Lua stuff runs internally. I appreciate your responses and info. I hate giving up on anything. I still need this thing to work out.
Every uploading attempts ended up with a blank page. I had to enable the mbstring PHP extension by uncommenting the following line in the php. I followed this guide to the last detail, step by step, no mistakes. First I got a lua error.
Added the codes to my LocalSettings. Sighted a fatal error with the lines the chmod and chcon codes are on. Removed those only to find none of the templates import correctly. All have script errors and are not working. Tried to import them again.
No change. Looks like this post has been pretty much abandoned. So, this is for any new reader such as myself who was hoping to find an easy solution to get a simple stupid box working on your page.
This does NOT work. I actually tested it again about a month ago and it worked fine I updated the blog post with some minor edits, I think. What versions of the extensions did you use? I followed this guide down to the last detail and did everything it advised to do. This used to work!
Trog, thanks for the great tutorial, after installing the neccessary template and Scribunto, on my mw 1. Lua error in mw. Are you able to make heads or tails of this, and what may be going on? In place of my infobox I get a red Script error. No problem Trog!
Thanks for your time and consideration! I simply loaded Scribunto for mw ver 1. I have not tried Scribunto for mw 1. I needed to specify the interwiki prefix field or it caused an error. Also no error message came, please assist. Your email address will not be published.
